Despicable Me

When a super villain named Gru - through strenuous efforts to steal back a weapon - discovers three orphans (Margo, Edith, and Agnes) who just might get the job done for him. To his initially discomfort, though, in order to complete his task he must adopt the tree girls. As they grow more reluctant to fulfill his order he considers abandoning them. But, as the movie goes on we can see that - though at one point it was tested - their love for each other grows and he soon becomes the father they never had.

I found this movie to be quite enjoyable. It had hilarious moments as well as sad. And even though at times it was predictable, even when I knew what was about to occur, it still came as a shock to me. That is a good quality to have in the movie. And of course Steve Carell gives it a certain flare. As well as having iCarly's Miranda Cosgrove. I must say I was nervous about the role of Margo was cast to her at first but she did surprise me and I think they couldn't have gotten a better actress to play Margo.

I think this is the perfect happy ending movie for a family to see together. You should be Ready2See this movie out on DVD!

Hawksmaid

Nine-year-old Matty Fitzwalter is being raised as a proper lady, to dance and embroider. But after her mother is murdered, her father teaches her to read, write, play chess and trains her in the art of falconry. Before long, she is hunting for food with her hawks, just as her best friend Fynn is hunting for his family. When she finds out that Fynn and his friends are also helping other poor families eat, she is determined to help her neighbors survive, even if it means hunting on forbidden land. They adopt code names and build treehouses, and soon Fynn is called Robin and Matty is known as Maid Marian. As Matty’s knack for falconry grows she discovers the magical ability to talk to her birds, and when a plot to overthrow King Richard is revealed, it is Matty who hatches a plan to steal the jewels for his ransom. But, all goes awry when Matty is captured by an eerie abbess and tortured so she would reveal the location of the rubies...

I found that this book was excellent in the beginning I really got into the characters. It was interesting from the very start - of course at first it was a bit difficult to understand what was going on. But, I did manage to figure it out not to far into the prologue. Now into the middle of the book everything was coming along nicely and it was a real mystery now. I was aching to know what was going to happen. But, I'm at the ending part of the book and things are starting to get a little confusing.
~SPOILER ALERT!~SPOILER ALERT!~SPOILER ALERT!~

So apparently now Matty is able to switch bodies with her birds. I truly do understand that this was a fiction book but inside the Matty's world this was impossible yet she wasn't even slightly curious as to how this was so. Of course that was anything wrong it was just odd.
~END OF SPOILER~

I'd say that this book was exciting and fun with the most interesting ending yet. You should be Ready2Read this book!

Sintel

Living on her own struggling just to get some food Sintel discovers an injured baby dragon - Scales. As the days pass by Sintel and Scales bond. When on top of a building playing with Scales, much to Sintel's sadness, Scales is snatched by a fully grown dragon leaving Sintel in shock. Through her determination to get her best friend back she embarks on an epic journey. When she thinks all is lost she meets a hermit who gives her wise advice an she sets of once more to find her beloved companion. But once arriving she had not realized how much time had passed. Should she have gone?

I found that this movie being only fourteen minutes felt like a full movie. The plot - though dark - was amazing. The character's determination was nothing I had ever seen before. Sintel passed through scorching desserts and freezing ice lands just to rescue her dragon. But what was most impressing is how much depth was put into a movie created on the program Blender! It just goes to show you that as long as you put your heart into something you can make it happen. But I must warn people that this was the saddest movies I have ever seen. Overall, though , if you can fight back tears or can at least cry freely, please, be ready2see this movie!

(NOTE: Though I do strongly suggest that you support the creators - www.sintel.org - if you are unable you can view the movie here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rO0yXC0oyIA)
